Dit is een officiële oproep van The Wandering Library of Untold Tales.
Uit deze bibliotheek heb jij een onverteld verhaal geleend, gebonden in een klein boekje met niets dan een titel op de kaft. Dat is geen toeval.
Jouw opdracht is helder: schrijf het.
De laatste tijd mis ik iets in deze bibliotheek: de liefde voor het geschreven woord, voor poëzie, voor een zin die met de hand tot stand komt, letter voor letter. Er wordt tegenwoordig te veel getypt, verbeterd en weer vergeten voordat het verhaal zelfs maar af is. Er wordt te weinig geschreven zoals het hoort: traag, onaf, met overtuiging.
Dit boekje mag onder geen beding ongeschreven terugkomen.
Pak je pen erbij, of desnoods je toetsenbord (ook een oude bibliotheek moet soms met haar tijd mee), en schrijf een kortverhaal of gedicht van hooguit 3 A4, over de titel op de kaft. Laat het gerust vreemd zijn, of gewaagd, of een tikkeltje weemoedig, als het maar van jou komt, en van niemand anders.
Ik wacht. Ik weet zeker dat je het kunt.

This is an official invitation from The Wandering Library of Untold Tales.
You have borrowed an untold story from this library, bound in a little book that carries nothing but a title. That was no coincidence.
Your task is clear: write it.
Lately, this library has felt something fading: the passion for the word, for poetry, for the human hand that once shaped a sentence letter by letter. Too many stories are typed, corrected, and forgotten before they are even finished. Too few are written the way they should be, slowly, imperfectly, by someone who means it.
Under no condition may this book return to the library unwritten.
Take up your pen (or your keyboard, even old libraries must bend, now and then), and write a short story or a poem, no longer than 3 A4 pages, about the title on its cover. Let it be strange, or daring, or a little wistful, as long as it is truly yours, and no one else's.
